The NDIA has announced a new measure to help combat the ongoing COVID-19 outbreaks in Victoria and NSW, allowing participants to use their NDIS funds to purchase PPE.
From the 29 July NSW & Vic Residents will be able to claim PPE from an existing support item, Low Cost Disability Related Health Consumables (Core Budget) using line item 3_040000919_0103_1_1.
Participants are expected to use their NDIS funding to purchase PPE at market rates. As a general guide, the weekly cost of PPE is not expected to exceed $50 per week. This is open to participants who receive an average of one hour face to face daily living supports.
Self Managed Participants are permitted to purchase from a supplier of their choice. PLan and NDIA Managed Participants must purchase from a registered provider.
