Personal Care is defined as assisting someone with their Activities of Daily Living or ADL’s – this includes, showering, dressing, toileting, transfers and assisting the individuals with any personal care that they may have.
Personal Care is a very hands on position and requires formal training from a registered organisation to do. This is because of the nature of the work, you are often dealing with individuals who need to be carefully manoeuvred or transferred and without proper training an incident may occur.
When tappON provide personal care assistance you must have a Cert III in Disability/Aged Care or equivalent or we do accept those who have previous experience in this industry.

When doing training to become a personal carer you do will learn to provide personal care and support to older people or those with a disability in their daily activities, meet the emotional and psychological needs of older people, provide care and support for people with dementia, work effectively with culturally diverse clients and colleagues, and assist individuals.
