Sometimes finding a moment for ourselves to practise a little ‘self-care’ and practicing gratitude can feel impossible with the daily routine of family, work, and other commitments that seem to absorb all of our time. How can we squeeze time in for ourselves when we prioritise everything else?

We are here today with a short self-care tip, practising gratitude. When there is so much we feel is being taken from us, the question is how can we give back to ourselves. Practising gratitude has been shown to be a key activity in building happiness by showing an appreciation for what you have in your life.

The benefits of gratitude

  • Helps you improve your mood and live in the moment
  • Improve your relationship with your family and friends.
  • Improve your relationship with yourself.
  • Building resilience during tough times
  • Focus on the good things in your life rather than the bad.

Practicing Gratitude only take a few minutes. Set aside 5 minutes in your day to write down something you are grateful for. It doesn’t matter whether it was something that happened yesterday or for that special someone being in your life. Tips for tracking your gratitude recordings include in a journal, the notes app on your phone, or on pieces of paper in a jar. Either way, tracking your moments of gratitude can help inspire and motivate you during tough times.

Sharing your gratitude moments with your family and friends can further cement your habit. This helps others discover the impact of gratitude in their daily life.
